What to expect for team selection
We are looking for a consistent quality to our teams as opposed to quantity.

Our teams will be chosen based on the all around skill level of an athlete. This means that if we have a back spot position that needs to be filled and we choose a back spot with level 3 stunt ability and level 2 tumbling then that athlete was chosen due to their potential to gain level 3 tumbling and current ability to stunt at level 3.

With the new scoring systems in place majority is considered over half of the team on tumbling and is the number of athletes on a team divided by 4 on stunts. This means a team with 20 athletes needs to have 5 stunt groups and 11 or more athletes performing the maximum difficulty tumbling for that level.

Cheerleading is becoming similar to gymnastics with the level play guidelines so teams will be chosen based on a child's ability or potential to acquire these appropriate skills.

In order to maximize our teams potential and utilize them for a successful season, every cheerleader will be chosen based on the USASF level play guidelines. You may visit the USASF website at www.usasf.net to review the guidelines.
